Tandem rig with a zebra midge up and hares ear down. One small split shot between the two and a small foam indicator 3.5 ft from the bottom fly. Fished a deep stretch on the edge of a faster run right where river bottom changes from dark to light.
Landed well over a dozen fish, all whities except for the surprise trout pictured. Average whitefish was over 14" and caught hard.
Saw many rises and had several takes on my indicator! But didn't feel like changing leader to dry fly fish.
Lost more than I landed, by a lot.
