Caught fish in a lot of different ways on this trip. Best advice is that you should bring a fish finder and try to match the depth of what you see. We were in a boat and it took us a lot of trial and error before we figured out what kind of gear to catch them on, to be moving or staying still, to use flies or lures, etc. We also had times when what was working stopped and we had to switch.
At this point, the water level is dropping on the reservoir and the bigger, mature Kokanee are starting to run up the river.
We took the 579 road in from between Lowman and Stanley and it seemed in pretty good shape. Still means 2.5 hrs driving on dirt and broke some stuff on the trailer but hey, it was an adventure.
